Solid Shampoo – Pros and Cons
Solid shampoo is a gentle and moisturizing product designed for normal hair. Through its use, your hair will become beautiful and shiny. It contains chamomile extract, known for its softening, relaxing effect on the skin and its moisturizing properties. The beauty vitamin, specifically provitamin B5 or D-panthenol, gives hair elasticity. Cocoa butter softens and moisturizes both hair and the scalp.
To achieve the maximum effect, wet your hair and apply the shampoo in gentle circular motions until a thick lather forms. Thoroughly rinse your hair with water, avoiding contact with the eyes. Store the shampoo in a place inaccessible to children.
Pros of solid shampoo
- Cost-effective. One of its significant advantages is its long-lasting use. One solid shampoo often lasts for 3-4 months, sometimes even up to six months (depending on how frequently it's used).
- Convenience. Solid shampoo is travel-friendly and can even be carried in your hand luggage. It easily fits into a small bag and takes up little space.
- Eco-friendliness. Most bars are packaged in paper or reusable metal tins. You can store and use them in a regular soap dish or their original packaging, reducing the use of plastic bottles and aiding in nature conservation.
- Preservation of beneficial components. The solid state allows better preservation of the shampoo's beneficial ingredients. This means you need to use less product to achieve the necessary cleansing and hair care.
Cons of solid shampoo
This product doesn't suit all types of scalp. For instance, those with sensitive, prone to irritation, and dry scalp should be cautious due to its concentrated formula and high content of sulfates, which provide good hair cleansing.
Usually, such products have a higher alkaline pH. Therefore, after its use, it's necessary to apply conditioner or balm. Additionally, after using such shampoos, hair tends to tangle more, making combing difficult. Hence, it's recommended to use a conditioner and/or leave-in spray. Solid products often contain essential oils, making them unsuitable for those with allergies.
